What is the problem
According to the Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM), the number of stray animals in Malaysia has increased by 70% during the pandemic of Covid-19. Without the proper care, the population of stray animals will increase substantially. When the number of stray animals increases, more and more stray animals will be injured or die in starvation or road accidents. Other than that, the pet owners choose to abandon their pet will also cause this situation to become more worse.
This situation will cause the stray animals to wander in public places and rummage through the rubbish looking for food. Besides that, some stray animals like dogs may attack people such as bit people, chasing people, and so on when they are too hungry. Therefore, it is a pretty serious issue. The Stray Free Labuan needs our help in raising more funds from the public to maintain the daily living of stray animals. If not, it is difficult for them to rescue and rehome more stray and abandoned pets.
How to solve the problem
From the problem stated above, our group like to help the stray dogs and cats at Stray Free Labuan. Therefore, we will organize a fundraiser with the Stray Free Labuan to raise the amount of money from the community through a crowdfunding website. First, we will use MyStartr.com to collect the funds from the public. After collecting the fund, we will use the donation funds to buy the animal's needed stuff. And we will supply dog and cat food, shampoo, and other materials to Stray Free Labuan. In addition, it also helps to raise awareness for animals in need, which contributes to the future support of numerous animals. With minor backing and kindness, the population of dead and homeless stray animals could reduce and be protected. Thus, through crowdfunding, we hope that we can make a safe place and shield the stray animals in Labuan.
